Last week the ETF door was spinning, then Thursday's book printed fat.

Market snapshot (CoinGecko, live vs ~7d, as-of 7 September 2026, 04:38 UTC):
Spot BTC ETFs: fat Thursday, then a thinner Friday
US spot bitcoin ETFs - the funds that hold real BTC - printed +$730.8M on 3 September. BlackRock's IBIT took +$454.0M. 4 September printed +$174.6M from IBIT and Fidelity's FBTC. Ten other funds sat at zero. Farside, which tracks those flows, still has the prior chop on the tape: +$216.7M, then -$236.5M, then +$101.1M.
| Date | IBIT | Total |
|---|---|---|
| 3 September | +$454.0M | +$730.8M |
| 4 September | +$117.4M | +$174.6M |
Farside - US spot BTC ETF daily flows. Total = all spot funds; IBIT sits inside that Total.
Relevance: when these funds take in money, they buy real BTC. Thursday was a fat bounce, and Friday thinned into the holiday. Monday 7 September is US Labor Day, so there is no US ETF session and the next book is Tuesday 8 September.
This is mixed, so the market is very likely to keep ranging today.

Jobs printed hot. +162k into the FOMC.
August payrolls printed +162,000 on Friday 4 September at 8:30 ET, versus 56,000 expected. TradingEconomics cites the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the US jobs office, for that print. June and July were revised up by a combined +55,000. Bitcoin Magazine said BTC dipped the same morning.
The elevator rang overweight, with more people squeezed in than the plate allowed.
Why it matters: a hot jobs number can lift yields and knock crypto the same session. Crypto sold that surprise Friday. The next FOMC, the Fed's rate-setting meeting, is 15-16 September, and this was the last labor print before it.
This is mixed, with the FOMC still ahead.
We will keep eyes on the mid-September FOMC.
