Market snapshot (CoinGecko, live vs ~7d, as-of 3 September 2026, 04:37 UTC):
Spot BTC ETFs chop: green, red, then green again
US spot bitcoin ETFs - the funds that hold real BTC - printed three new sessions after last Friday's red. Farside, which tracks those flows, has 31 August at +$216.7M, 1 September at -$236.5M, and 2 September at +$101.1M. BlackRock's IBIT did most of the work. Thursday 3 September is still blank.
| Date | IBIT | Total |
|---|---|---|
| 31 August | +$205.9M | +$216.7M |
| 1 September | -$201.2M | -$236.5M |
| 2 September | +$115.4M | +$101.1M |
Farside - US spot BTC ETF daily flows. Total = all spot funds; IBIT sits inside that Total.
Why it matters: when these funds take in money, they buy real bitcoin. Redemptions sell it. This is mixed, a bounce that cannot pick a lane.

NFP Friday. Last labor print before the FOMC.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics has the August Employment Situation - the main US jobs print - on the calendar for Friday 4 September, 8:30 ET. There is no number yet. The next FOMC, the Fed's rate-setting meeting, comes after Friday.
Crypto will most likely trade the surprise, as it has done before. A hot print can lift yields and send crypto lower in that same morning.
This may remain mixed, ranging, until Friday.
It is important to keep eyes on Friday's labor print, and on the next FOMC.
