Five green ETF days after the bleed, and the Treasury squeeze already ran.

Market snapshot (CoinGecko, live vs ~7d, as-of 24 August 2026, 04:34 UTC):
ETF bounce - a fat green week
Thursday we called the bleed flipped. The checkout lane stayed open through Friday.
US spot bitcoin ETFs - the funds that hold real BTC - printed five green sessions from 17 August through 21 August. Thursday still had 19 August as a partial book. Farside now prints it complete at +$517.2M. BlackRock's IBIT, the biggest of those funds, then took +$503.0M of 20 August and +$239.3M of 21 August. FarsideUK printed the week at +$1,917.8M.
| Date | IBIT | Total |
|---|---|---|
| 17 August | +$297.5M | |
| 18 August | +$189.3M | |
| 19 August | +$517.2M | |
| 20 August | +$503.0M | +$606.3M |
| 21 August | +$239.3M | +$307.5M |
Farside - US spot BTC ETF daily flows. Total = all spot funds; IBIT is one line inside that total where printed.
Why it matters: When these funds take in money, they buy real bitcoin. Five green days is a bounce that became a week. Secondary SoSoValue still has the year about $2.9B in the red. We will watch this week's sessions.
This is bullish short-term for the creation bid.

Treasury buybacks - the squeeze ran the tape
The US Treasury, America's debt office, said on 19 August it will raise long-end liquidity-support buybacks beginning 9 September. Washington will buy more of its own long bonds to keep that market orderly. The operations have not started.
Crowded crypto shorts covered into that news and into the ETF bid. Bitcoin ripped from the mid-60ks into the high 70ks, last at $77,190. Weekend 22-23 August then washed crowded longs.
Why it matters: The announcement was enough. Thin crypto books did the rest, and shorts covered fast. We will keep eyes on whether $75-77k holds, and on the 9 September start.
This is mixed for Crypto. The squeeze already ran.
