ETF bounce - two fat green days

Monday we called it bleed - 13 August -$131.1M, 14 August -$56.2M. The checkout lane emptied. Then the queue walked back in: 17 August and 18 August printed two fat green sessions on the US spot bitcoin ETFs - the funds that hold real BTC.

DateIBITTotal
17 August+$160.2M+$297.5M
18 August+$143.6M+$189.3M
19 August+$517.19M

17-18 August: Farside Investors. 19 August: SoSoValue, latest US spot BTC ETF session. Total = all spot funds; IBIT is one line inside that total where printed.

BlackRock's IBIT and Fidelity's FBTC took most of the first green day. IBIT led again on 18 August. SoSoValue's 19 August session printed +$517.19M.

Why it matters: When these funds take in money, they buy real bitcoin. Two fat green days after the bleed, with 19 August at +$517.19M, is a bounce. We will watch the next sessions.

This is bullish short-term for the creation bid.

SEC puts the crypto rule on paper

The US SEC, America's markets regulator, proposed Regulation Crypto Assets on 18 August (press 2026-76, proposed rule 33-11434). Monday the chairs were empty. Tuesday they dropped a thick binder on the table.

Chair Atkins sketched a tailored offering path plus a safe harbor once teams stop steering the project. Comments run 60 days after Federal Register publication. Same week the White House hosted a 19 August crypto session pushing CLARITY, the US market-structure bill. No new Senate floor date.

Why it matters: Issuers and platforms have a proposed registration path to argue over. We will keep eyes on the comment window and the mid-September Senate clock.

This is ranging for Crypto.
