ETF bleed - two more red days

Thursday we called it bounce-met-reality. Then 13 August and 14 August printed two more red sessions on the US spot bitcoin ETFs - the funds that hold real BTC.

10 August-$53.6M-$144.6M
11 August+$50.2M+$7.8M
12 August-$14.3M-$61.1M
13 August-$5.7M-$131.1M
14 August-$55.5M-$56.2M

Farside Investors - US spot BTC ETF daily flows. Total = all spot funds; IBIT is one line inside that total. Weekend 15-16 August closed.

Four of the last five sessions leaked. IBIT is still the swing horse - light on Thursday, heavy on Friday. Like a checkout lane that opens for one shopper, then the queue walks back out.

Why it matters: When these funds lose money, they sell real bitcoin. The bounce faded. We are in bleed. We will watch the next two to four ETF sessions.

This is bearish short-term for Crypto. The tape is still ranging.

SEC pulls Friday's crypto vote

The US SEC - the main American markets regulator - cancelled Friday's 14 August 10:00 ET open meeting. That session was set to consider a tailored offering regime for certain crypto investment contracts. The cancel notice posted 13 August. No new date.

CoinDesk sources on 16 August tie the pause to Senate CLARITY talks, the US crypto market-structure bill still parked for mid-September. That motive is sourced reporting.

Why it matters: The one near-term SEC vote that would have sketched a registration path is gone. Issuers and platforms stay in the same legal fog. We will keep eyes on a reschedule and the mid-September Senate clock.

This is ranging for Crypto. A rule delay, no new price bid.

Three address books walked out

Trezor, the hardware-wallet maker, said 13 August that shipper ShipMonk exposed 11,742 full customer records plus 1,947 partial - about 13,689 names, emails, phones, and shipping addresses. Many of us hold a Trezor. The leak covers recent orders, about 10 May to 8 August 2026. Keys and devices stayed intact.

SafePal, another wallet firm, said 16 August about 39,798 customers leaked through an order-tracking plugin, orders 2 March 2025 to 11 April 2026. Bits of Gold, the Israeli broker, is probing vendor access the same day. Funds and passwords are claimed untouched (via crypto.news citing Calcalist).

Why it matters: For that Trezor May-August order book, the live risk is phishing and physical targeting. We still recommend self-custody.
