The comment clock is running - 20 October

The US securities regulator printed Regulation Crypto Assets in the Federal Register - the government's official public-notice book - on 21 August. File S7-2026-27. Last Thursday we had the proposal. This week the public page is live. Comments close 20 October 2026.

The comment box is on the counter. Same as a hotel card: you can still write until they collect.

Why it matters: a Federal Register print starts the official clock. Issuers and exchanges get a dated window to argue how US crypto plumbing gets written. The rule is still a proposal.

We will watch the 20 October close.

Jackson Hole is open - Warsh speaks Friday

The Kansas City Fed - the regional US central bank that hosts this yearly Wyoming gathering - opened the 2026 Jackson Hole symposium today, 27-29 August. Kevin Warsh's keynote is Friday 28 August, 10:00 ET (8:00 MDT), streamed on the KC Fed YouTube. Official theme language includes digital payments, instant payments, cryptocurrencies, and stablecoins. The words land Friday.

Why it matters: crypto is in the room language. A payments speech can move how people talk about stablecoins. The dinner guest is seated. He has not spoken. This is mixed until Friday.

We will keep eyes on the 10:00 ET stream.
