GM to this week's Market SitRep - five green ETF days, Clarity parked until fall, and a minority fork that barely left the driveway.
Market snapshot (CoinGecko, live vs ~7d, as-of 10 August 2026, 04:31 UTC): BTC $64,984 (+2.39%) · ETH $1,918.26 (+1.94%) · SOL $76.59 (+4.21%). Source: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana on CoinGecko.
ETF bounce - five green days, ~$854M week
US spot bitcoin ETFs - funds that hold real BTC - printed five straight net-inflow days from 3-7 August (Farside: +$170.1M, +$211.5M, +$244.4M, +$137.6M, +$101.7M). CoinDesk/SoSoValue put the week ended 7 August at $853.54M, largest since mid-April; BlackRock IBIT about $693M. YTD still about $4.5B in the red.
Why it matters: when these funds take in money, they buy real bitcoin. Five days is a bounce - same story we started after the Monday bruise and Thursday rebound. YTD still about $4.5B red. Watch next sessions and CPI around 12 August.

CLARITY misses August vote; cloture filed; odds ~21%
The Senate will not hold a procedural vote on the CLARITY Act (H.R.3633) - the main US crypto market-structure bill - before August recess. Majority Leader Thune filed cloture around 8 August (the Senate vote that limits debate). CoinDesk (9 August) cites ethics and illicit-finance blockers. Polymarket prices about 21% chance of law by 31 December 2026 (as of 10 August). Odds are not legislation.
Why it matters: without Clarity, US exchange, custody, and token risk stays elevated. The August window closed. Watch the mid-September return fight.

BIP-110 minority fork mines two blocks then stalls
BIP-110 is a proposed Bitcoin rule change that would temporarily ban non-financial data in block space. After signaling near block 961,632 (~8-9 August), a minority chain mined only two blocks while mainchain advanced about 48 - like a side street that opened two house numbers and then went quiet. Signal sat near 2.53% versus about 55% needed (CoinDesk, 9 August). Mainchain users were largely unaffected; replay risk remains on fork coins.
Why it matters: miners stayed on mainchain. Users barely felt it. Watch signaling toward block 963,647.

Conclusion
From these points we conclude:
ETF bounce needs confirmation
Five green creation days and an ~$854M week help, but YTD is still about $4.5B in the red. Next sessions after CPI decide whether the bid sticks.
Clarity delayed into fall
Missing the August procedural vote and ~21% year-end passage odds keep US market-structure risk elevated into the mid-September return.
Mainchain held on BIP-110
The minority fork stalled after two blocks with ~2.5% signal. Majority chain stability held.
That's it for this week. May Momentum be with us.
